Workers in the Nation’s Civil
Service have been assured that the current slash in the wages
and emoluments of political office holders’ occasioned by the
current global financial meltdown will not affect civil servants
across the country. President Umaru Musa Yar’Adua gave this
assurance in Abeokuta while commissioning the new workers
secretariat at Oke-Mosan in Abeokuta.
President Umar Musa Yar’Adua on a day visit to Ogun State, the
first since he assumed office as President and
Commander-In-Chief of the Armed Forces. The occasion saw
crème-de-la-crème from across the country from past, to serving
political office holders. The Ogun State Head of Service, Chief
Oladipupo Odulate says the completion of the Workers Secretariat
demonstrates the enviable position the present Government places
its workforce, pledging unalloyed and loyalty and support to
Otunba Gbenga Daniel administration.
Achievements so far in ensuring a good atmosphere for the
workers, Chief Odulate says includes prompt payment of salaries,
Workers Estate, Promotion and Training of workforce. The
conception and execution of New Workers Secretariat, Ogun State
Governor explains in a further attestation to the fulfillment of
the dream of the State founding fathers. Despite the laurels won
in all spheres, desperation to capture power in the State,
Otunba Gbenga Daniel, states that the State is responsible for
the seeming crisis within the party while calling on the PDP
Party leadership to visit issue. |
